the Hudson River Line is one of the prettiest
train rides I have ever experienced
(and I took a train through Wales).
Bannerman's Castle appears from nowhere
astonishing new riders and small children alike.
It's only a castle in that it has crenellations
and is made of stone
(It was actually a military surplus warehouse-
it housed 30 Million
surplus Munitions Charges),
and a Scottish guy lived there.
It still inspires me
and is what I think of as the castle
on the Iron Islands
when I read A Song of Ice and Fire.
